John Lavery (1856–1941) was an Irish-born British painter of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. One of the Glasgow Boys, he moved from plein-air realism to brilliant society portraiture: elegant ladies, the ballerina Anna Pavlova, tennis and croquet on summer lawns, and sunny Tangier. He is also known as Sir John Lavery. This postcard set includes works by the artist, including Anna Pavlova as the Swan, Anna Pavlova: The Red Scarf, Under the Cherry Tree, The Croquet Party, A Windy Day, My Studio Door, Tangier and others.
