Decorative art of Dagestan reflects the world of peoples from this republic, its connection with the surrounding nature. The history of the region, which is several thousand years old, is reflected in folk crafts. Dagestan art absorbed both Western and Eastern traditions, since the Caspian lowland was at the crossroads connecting Eastern Europe with Western Asia.
